As a student at Spelman, Bianca became a mentor to some youth in our program. After graduation, she went on to Harvard Business School where she earned an MBA, and, in 2013, joined Stockbridge, a real estate investment management firm. A few years later she was looking for a volunteer opportunity for her team at Stockbridge. Her time with us had made a lasting impact on her, one that compelled her to reconnect with RE.
After a few years of having her team donate Christmas gifts, groceries, and household goods to the families of some of our students, Bianca met with us to propose what she described as a “crazy” idea to establish a pilot program that would introduce RE youth to real estate careers. The program moved from concept to reality in 2020. When she was at Harvard Business School, Bianca told an interviewer that she wanted to be remembered “as the woman who erased the achievement gap between minority and white students.” We, at RE, will certainly remember her for her efforts.
