RE is proud to serve as a representative on the Public Safety Committee for District 3. This committee advises on all matters regarding public safety, especially those involving discrimination and the drafting and implementation of penal ordinances. We are honored to have this opportunity to advocate for civil justice, and to help ensure that it is pursued equitably and with compassion.
RE is also working alongside other organizations on Mayor Andre Dickens’ transition team. We join other civic, business, and professional leaders on the 40-member panel. We’ll be serving on the Education & Youth subcommittee. “I’ve recruited a dynamic and diverse group to help move Atlanta forward,” Dickens said of the appointments. We look forward to sharing the insights we have acquired in twenty-six years of serving the city’s marginalized neighborhoods.
The mayor has invited us to participate in the Summit to Support Young Men of Color, held at City Hall on January 19, where we joined other invitees in sharing our ideas and concerns and hearing the mayors’ goals and expectations. Read more about Mayor Dickens’s Transition Team.
